Tell Your Senator – Keep the Clean Energy Economic Engine Going

Letter	Dear Senator, In order to reduce pollution and to keep our nation’s fast developing clean energy industry going, I urge you to support the Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Tax Act (HR 5351). The clean energy incentives included in this bill would not only stimulate the economy in the short-term by continuing job creation and spurring investment, but also would help solve global warming and promote and retain long-term development and growth in the clean energy technology industry. What’s worse, over 100,000 American jobs are at risk if clean energy projects grind to a halt because these common sense clean energy incentives are allowed to expire. Sincerely,

Don’t let the Senate drop the ball on clean energy. Tell your senators that the health of our environment and our economy depend on a thriving renewable energy industry and that we cannot let congressional gridlock to bring progress on clean energy to a screeching halt. The House passed a bill extending incentives for clean energy that are crucial to hundreds of new and existing renewable energy projects and tens of thousands of existing green jobs.

State progress on clean energy

We helped enact energy-efficiency standards for a variety of products in 11 states. We've worked with 25 states to pass a renewable energy standards. And we've helped 12 states cut global warming pollution with clean cars programs. When enacted, these programs will reduce gasoline consumption by as much as 7.2 billion gallons per year in 2020 and save consumers up to $16.7 billion annually at the pump in 2020. Read more.
