Victory for now but more is needed to protect our state parks
We did it! Thousands of you sent in emails to the governor and it worked. The governor changed his mind, and
the parks are safe for this year.
But long-term funding solutions are necessary.
Assemblymember Laird (Santa Cruz) has
introduced legislation that would add $10 to the vehicle license fee. In
exchange all cars with California license plates
would get into state parks for the
day for free.
This funding plan is a great deal. It creates a one time fee, but
it gives Californian's unlimited day
use to the state parks!
Email the governor and ask him to
support this plan. Then email your
friends and ask them to do the same thing. We won once on this issue and we
have a chance to win again and provide permanent protection to the 278 state
parks.
