Urge Gov. Schwarzenegger to cut global warming pollution from carsHere in California we have the ability—some would
say the responsibility—to lead the world in stopping global warming. Last year,
Gov. Schwarzenegger put California
on the world stage when he supported a mandatory cap on global warming
pollution. With bold leadership and
immediate action, California
can continue to lead the way in solving global warming. Perhaps most important, we
need to cut global warming pollution from the millions of cars in our
state. Producing cleaner cars is half
the solution, but the other half is to reduce the number of miles we all drive
every day.
Here’s a sample message: “Hi, my name is _____ and I’m from ______. I’m calling to urge Gov. Schwarzenegger to help stop global warming by supporting public transit, smart growth and other policies to reduce how much we drive. Specifically, I think we need a statewide plan to cut the number of miles driven in California by 20% by 2020.”
