Environment California Staff
Julia Ritchie is the Oceans Associate at Environment California. Originally from Aspen Colorado, she graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010 with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics. After learning about the wide range of environmental problems facing current and future generations, Julia decided to dedicate her professional life to the protecting and restoring the environment.
Julia began working with Environment California in August and organized Northern California's largest youth get-out-the-vote campaign against Proposition 23 on the November 2010 ballot at San Jose State University. As the Ocean Associate she is working on campaigns to protect and restore California's beloved ocean by banning single-use plastic bags, defending our coast from offshore drilling, and protecting marine ecosystems.
